IDI is extremely aware of the importance of our approved vendors towards the success of our shareholders, and our group overall. While rebates are extremely critical to IDI’s shareholders in terms of leveling the playing field against the National Chains, the reality is that “acquisition costs” are not the only “uneven playing field” that challenges the independent distributor in today’s marketplace. IDI’s Supplier Classification matrix is a weighted, point-based system that clearly outlines to our vendor partners the ways they can enhance their relationships with our shareholders. Points are awarded to each vendor partner based on their alignment with IDI’s core strategic initiatives in the areas of:




  • Rebate % offered

  • Uniform pricing to shareholders

  • Open program access to shareholders

  • IDI Connects e-commerce

  • Rebate dollars paid

  • Rebate payment frequency

  • National Accounts contract support

  • IDI Mart participation

  • Co-op marketing funds offered

  • Central payment through IDI

  • “Best program acquisition cost” (BPAC)
