We provide distribution alternatives for your products.

It is commonplace amongst IDI’s host of approved vendor programs that the relationship is structured so that the vendor continues shipping directly to the IDI shareholder. However, the natural evolution of many purchasing co-operatives is to further streamline the supply chain by adding a central distribution facility to their bundle of services. IDI is no exception and was the first industrial purchasing consortium in Canada to operate a distribution centre when we opened our doors in 1997.

Our 17,000 square foot IDI Distribution Centre (“DC”) is centrally located in Mississauga,  Ontario.

Every IDI shareholder utilizes their IDI DC, most on a weekly basis, taking advantage of the convenience of ordering products from multiple vendors on one invoice.

The IDI DC is accessible to members only, and offers IDI’s vendor partners four added options to distribute products to IDI shareholders:

  • Servicing the entire IDI membership through the IDI DC by setting the DC up as a re-seller to our shareholders – we are shipping weekly to most of our shareholders already

  • Broadening your reach to all shareholders, regardless of their volumes, by servicing the smaller shareholders through the DC

  • Driving volume through savings created by group buys – our shareholders hold the excess inventory in the IDI DC, and draw off of it as needed.

IDI’s user-friendly freight policy ships all orders greater than $100 prepaid to the shareholder – head office, branch or end-user – anywhere in Canada. IDI’s shareholders appreciate the ease of doing business with their own central distribution centre – one more reason why the IDI DC may be a very viable conduit for your products to our shareholders!
